Microplastics and the Planet
Meet Paige Craig, SolPods Curriculum Developer and Sustainability Analyst! She is a recent graduate of American University with a degree in Environmental Science and Mathematics, where she conducted research on microplastics in the Anacostia Watershed. Her work was presented at a poster session at the American Geophysical Union Conference in Washington D.C. Paige’s interests center on climate justice, accessible STEM education, and diversifying STEM. She was recognized with the STEM Peer Mentoring Honors Award for teaching elementary students about diversity in STEM, and also served as a mentor in American University’s LULAC Chapter’s La Familia program. Drawing on her lab experience and passion for equity in science, Paige created this interactive workshop to help students engage more deeply with environmental topics.
